This Was a Safeguarding Concern. Not a Symptom.

How a manager who’s never met me responded to coercive abuse by flagging “potential deterioration”

A few days ago, I submitted a safeguarding concern.

It was about coercion. About control.

About the subtle erosion of safety dressed up as care.

I wrote clearly. Calmly. With integrity.

And in response?

A manager I’ve never met didn’t ask if I was safe.

Didn’t acknowledge the seriousness of what I’d disclosed.

Instead, she wrote an internal note to a colleague, flagging:

“Potential deterioration.”

Not because I was unwell.

But because I was clear.

Because I named something difficult — and named it too well.
